Congratulations on choosing your holiday with Ozsail
Maybe you see yourself sunbathing on the pure white silica sands of Whitehaven Beach, or maybe you envisage yourself hoisting the sails on one of our Performance Yachts and experiencing some very serious sailing. Whatever your expectations are, everyone here at OzSail would like to make sure nothing spoils your Whitsunday sailing holiday, please take the time to read through the below information.

Ensure you check-in for your boat briefing at our Reservations Office; Shop 3 / 398 Shute Harbour Rd, (map Below) any time between 8.30am and 9.30am on the day of departure. All you need is your ticket and we will give you a boarding pass, map and a list of what to take, you will have at least 2 Hours after the briefing to pack and make your way to the marina.
Only Small bags are allowed on board the boats. The same size as carry-on luggage on an air plane is a good guide. You Hostels will have bag storage for you or alternately we have storage at our office check in office
We cater for any special dietary requirements. Please let us know well in advance if you have special dietary requirements.
Drinking water and BYO
We have drinking water available on all our vessels. Ensure you drink enough fluids. All boats at BYO.
Do not bring any glass or plastic bags on the boats. OzSail is committed to protecting the environment and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and marine animals.
If you think you may suffer from sea sickness, please ensure you consult your doctor or pharmacist on how to manage this on-board.
Sunscreen and Hat
You will be in a tropical environment. Dehydration and sun strike are a real risk. Please ensure you apply sunscreen every 2 hours (min 30+) and wear protective clothing, including a hat.
Make sure you have it.
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park is located in tropic north Queensland. This means that in summer the weather can be very hot (with temperatures up to 38 degrees Celsius with 100% humidity).
Although we try and depart on time, there are factors such as tides and weather that can change a departure time by up to 3 hrs. You must ensure that you are at the briefing on the morning of departure to get your updated departure time.
